AgentSight privacy policy

AgentSight audits how ready a store's catalog is for AI shopping agents. This policy covers the app itself and its Shopify App Store listing.

Effective July 25, 2026Operator: Ellefsen Marketing

Data the app accesses

  • Product data — titles, descriptions, images and alt text, variants, categories, and SEO fields. AgentSight reads these fields to produce an audit and writes a field only when the merchant deliberately applies a fix.
  • Shop information — store name, shop domain, and primary domain, used to identify the shop and run public storefront checks.

Data the app stores

  • The shop domain and Shopify-issued API session.
  • Scan results, including product IDs, titles and handles, featured image and storefront URLs, media IDs and alt text, product scores, and detected issues.
  • Fix history containing the prior and replacement value for a change, retained so the merchant can reverse that change.

AgentSight does not access customer names, emails, addresses, orders, payment information, or financial data.

Shopify App Store listing analytics

This section applies only to the public AgentSight listing hosted by the Shopify App Store. Google Analytics is not embedded inside the AgentSight app or on a merchant's storefront.

When listing measurement is enabled, Shopify can send listing-funnel events to a Google Analytics 4 property controlled by Ellefsen Marketing. Those events can include:

  • listing views and selections of the Install or Open app buttons;
  • visits attributed to a Shopify App Store advertisement, including the app identifier and the referring App Store surface;
  • attribution context from the listing URL, such as locale, the App Store surface or search query, and listing position; and
  • when full-funnel measurement is enabled, a completed-install event containing the app identifier and the installing Shopify shop's ID, name, and myshopify URL.

Google can also receive standard web-measurement information from the listing page, such as the page URL, browser and device information, session or cookie identifiers, IP address, and approximate location. Shopify hosts the listing page and controls its implementation.

We use this information only to measure listing discovery, installation intent, completed installs, and Shopify App Store advertising performance, and to improve our listings and acquisition decisions. We do not sell it, use it for personalized or cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it to change a merchant's price, app eligibility, or product results. We do not register shop ID, shop name, or shop URL as reporting dimensions or use them to build merchant profiles.

Providers, retention, transfers, and choices

Shopify supplies the App Store page and sends the events. Google LLC provides Analytics processing and reporting. These providers can process information outside your country, including in the United States, subject to the safeguards described in their privacy materials.

We configure Google Analytics user-level and event-level retention to two months and disable resetting that period when a user returns. Standard aggregated reports can remain available for longer, and we may keep non-identifying campaign summaries for business records.

You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or object to processing of personal data associated with you. For an install-related request, include the app name and your myshopify domain so we can evaluate and, where reasonably possible, act on the request. Listing-view information is normally pseudonymous; if we cannot reasonably connect it to you, we will explain that limitation. You can also use browser cookie controls or the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Sharing and service providers

We do not sell personal data or disclose it for personalized or cross-context behavioral advertising. AgentSight app data is stored with our infrastructure providers, Vercel and Neon, in encrypted form and used solely to operate the app. Separately, Shopify can send the App Store listing analytics described above to Google. Apart from Shopify's completed-install identifiers, AgentSight product data, scan results, fix history, and API sessions are not sent to Google.

Deletion

Uninstalling AgentSight immediately invalidates its Shopify access. When Shopify sends the shop-redaction webhook, stored scans, audits, fix history, and sessions for that shop are deleted. You can contact us to request earlier deletion. Listing-analytics data follows the retention and request process described above.

Contact and privacy requests

Questions, access requests, objections, or deletion requests can be sent to ellefsenmarketing+agentsight@gmail.com. We may need to verify that a request relates to the requesting shop before acting on it.
